On 4th and 5th October the Catalyst team made their way down to Kensington Olympia for what was set to be an amazing event.
Throughout the last year the Catalyst team have worked hard to get everything prepared for Olympia Beauty 2015 to ensure it was their best year yet! Liaising with affiliate magazines, creating various marketing materials and co-ordinating with all the exhibitors was just the foundation for the event; working was flowing and hundreds of emails were sent.
A big focus was placed on social media this year meaning tweets were produced three to four times daily, Facebook campaigns ran to encourage visitors to book tickets, the Instagram page was updated and Freebie Friday’s were scheduled for the months running up to the show.
This year’s Olympia Beauty also saw the launch of The Beauty Blogger Awards and The Salon and Spa Owners’ club, requiring significant promotional activity to raise the profile and awareness of both launches. Substantial planning went into these new show features to get everything into place for the event. E-shots were designed and sent out, tweets were tweeted and brands were involved in the promo of these events.
Catalyst liaised between the judges, sponsors and The Ampersand Hotel to ensure that the judging day went ahead without a hitch on the 3rd September. Judging forms were designed and printed, iPads charged and tea and coffee pre ordered – everything our judges needed we sorted! Catalyst took on the event management of the awards ceremony and the trophies were ordered, bloggers contacted, emails sent out and sponsors were phoned making these aspects of the show the big hit we hoped they would be!
The Advanced Beauty Conference returned this year on a bigger stage than previously, resulting in a bigger operation to get it all prepared. E-shots were designed, tweets sent out twice daily and press contacted to make this stage a must at the show. The Advanced Beauty Conference was not the only stage to take place at Olympia Beauty, with a further three stages including the Health and Wellbeing, Creativity of Nails and Business of Beauty stages also playing a crucial part in the overall show. Catalyst worked hard to maintain that all speakers had allotted times, were registered for passes, arranged all their necessary equipment and assisted with the stage management at the show.
Here at Catalyst, we know the importance of press attendance at these events so the team worked hard to ensure there was an enviable list of press present at Olympia Beauty. Journalists from Time Inc group, Hair Magazine, East London Radio, The London Evening Post, County Weddings, MTV, QVC, London Evening Standard, Daily Mail, BBC and many more outlets attended the exclusive press zone. We also opened the door to some of the UK’s most successful bloggers, resulting in some amazing reviews. Our lovely attendees also received a fab goody bag put together by our team at Catalyst with products from the amazing exhibitors of Olympia Beauty.
After a year of hard work and dedication, here at Catalyst PR we are exceptionally proud of the outcome and so chuffed that Olympia Beauty turned out to be an incredible success!
